Padmaja is a Civil Engineer by profession and also a Chef and food writer. Paddy (as she is known) loves home cooking and has infectious enthusiasm for authentic Indian cuisine. In 2008, she was a winner on the BBC 2 programme ‘Step Up to the Plate’ which challenges the talents of upcoming chef against Paul Rankin and John Burton Race.

Paddy spent her childhood eating authentic Indian food. Her cooking style is simple, authentic and flavoursome. She has an experimental style, which incorporates trying new techniques and methods to provide her own twist on traditional Indian recipes.

Course Details...

So many people love an Indian curry but don't know how to cook it or recreate that authentic Indian flavour at home. Our Introduction to Simple Indian Cooking course, with Padmaja Kochera, will introduce you to Indian spices and give you a hands on lesson, so you can learn how to cook simple, yet delicious Indian dishes in the comfort of your own kitchen!

  • Onion Bhajis

  • Vegetable Samosas

  • Peas Pulao

  • Chicken Curry with Fresh Spices

The course will run from 10.00am until 3.00pm and includes practical and demonstration cookery sessions, lunch and refreshments. All the ingredients, equipment and the recipes for the day will be provided.
